Steel-Cut Oats with Virginia Brand Honey

Ingredients

1 Tbsp Butter
1 cup Steel cut oats
3 cups Water
1 cup Milk
1/2 cup Fresh berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries)
1/2 cup Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.), lightly toasted
3 Tbsp Virginia Brand Honey

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter and sauté the oats lightly until they are toasted and begin to smell nutty.
  2. Add the water and bring to a simmer, cooking about 25 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed.
  3. Add milk and continue to simmer until milk is absorbed.
  4. Turn off the heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Add berries and nuts and stir to combine. Top with agave nectar and enjoy for breakfast
